Purpose of the initiative
Promote and encourage the culture of the project linked to the world of design, which is strongly enhanced by the environmental context, in one of the oldest parts of the Genoa historical center.

1) Who is the DWG aimed at

Architects, designers individually and/or with presenting companies, called to participate with products already made or projects in the form of a prototype.

2) Exposure mode and location

The Genoa Design Week offers three possible exhibition solutions:

A) Single Space
• Entrances and courtyards of historic palace
• Unrented business premises
• Private apartments
In the opening hours of the event, the exhibition space is required to be attended by the exhibitor.

B) Collective spaces
Space shared by multiple designers indicated by the Organization.
In the opening hours of the event, the exhibition space is required to be attended by the exhibitor.

C) Showcase space and other spaces
The product will be displayed in the windows of the commercial activities in the Design District or in the most appropriate locations identified by the Organization.
There is no provision for the exhibitor to take care of the exhibition space.
The showcase/object matching will be the unquestionable care of the organization.

3) How to participate in the DWG

Participants will have to send dide.genova@gmail.com the downloadable form clicking HERE, filled in all its parts along with two images, for each object presented, in PDF or Jpeg format (300 dpi) no later than July 31, 2020.

5) Selection and admission to the DWG

The Organizing Committee of the Genoa Design Week will confirm the participation of requests received by email no later than July 31, 2020.

6) Delivery of items/products allowed to DWG

a) Showcase space (point 2C in 2) Exposure mode and location)
The selected objects and prototypes must be received by September 4, 2020, subject to exclusion and the consequent loss of the paid share.
The modes and timing of the delivery must be agreed with the Organizational Secretariat.
b) Single space and Collective space (points 2A e 2B in 2) Exposure mode and location)
Designers/companies will have to agree on the modalities and timing of the set-up with the Organizational Secretariat.
Transportation and insurance costs are borne by the participants.

7) Return of admitted items/products for point C (Showcase space)

Exhibits must be withdrawn personally by the participant or his delegate duplicity officer and the exhibits will be dismantled at the end of the exhibition by agreeing on the modalities and timing with the Organizational Secretariat.
Participants who will send their items by express courier, will have to refer to them at their own expense to book their withdrawal.
Works that will not be withdrawn within the agreed timeframe will be donated as a bequest to DiDe APS.

8) Regulation

Art.1 DESIGNATION
Design Week Genoa
Art.2 PURPOSE
The Genoa Design Week is a widespread exhibition of design objects, a cultural event for designers, creatives, artists, designers and in general open to all fans of the sector.
Art.3 ORGANISATION
Design Week Genova is organized by the Association DiDe_Distretto del Design APS, which reserves the widest decisional faculty for the organization of the Event and in particular with regard to the program and times. Such decisions shall not affect any alleged or acquired rights of exhibitors.
Art.4 PLACE - DATE - TIMETABLE
Design Week Genova 2020 (dwg2020) will take place in the District of Design in Piazza giustiniani and surroundings (as better defined by the plans that highlight the position of all exhibition spaces).
The event will be open to the public from 16 to 20 September 2020 with the following times:

Art.5 SET-UP AND DISSASSEMBLY TIMES
Exhibitors are set up for the day TBA.

Unoccupied spaces within TBA will be deemed to be made available to the organizers who, unless and without prejudice to any right, will consider the Exhibitor waiver without right to any refund in any way.

The layout of the stands must be completed by TBA.
For complex assembly and disassembly, please contact the Organization for specific arrangements.
Art.6 ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION
All designers, manufacturers and creatives can participate in the Genoa Design Award.
Art.7 TERMINI DI AMMISSIONE
The signature of the application to participate shall constitute an irrevocable proposal for the applicant and shall entail acceptance of this Regulation.
The application for participation must be signed and completed in all parts of the designer or by the owner/legal representative of the
a) receipt of payment according to the type of exposure chosen (without which the application will not be considered for acceptance) and with the following methods:
- by non-transferable cashier’s cheque or non transferable bank cheque made out to the Association DiDe_Distretto del Design APS, sent to the following address: Via Chiabrera, 33R - 16123 Genova
- by bank transfer UBI BANCA – GENOVA SECTION iban: IT42Q 03111 01401 0000 00004809 made out to Ass. Dide Distretto del Design APS
b) this Regulation signed at the bottom.
The order of receipt of the application for participation is not decisive for the purposes of admission. The acceptance or not of any request for participation is reserved to the organizers and is unquestionable.
Art.8 SET UP OF THE EXHIBITION
Since it is a private space of a property subject to protection, it is necessary to comply with the
requirements of the Superintendence that require the display of temporary objects, not fixed to the floor or
walls. The layout must be previously agreed with the organizers of the Genoa Design Week as well as the layout that will be done by the exhibitor in the times that will be defined with the Organizing Committee. If there is a default on the part of the exhibitor, the organization disclaims all responsibility. During the opening
hours of the exhibition must be guaranteed the safety of both the people and the exposed furniture, all at the expense of the exhibitor even during transport, preparation and disassembly. The exhibiting company is entirely responsible (and recommended) for taking out specific insurance against all damage that the works
may suffer.
Art.9 COMPULSORY INSURANCE OF GOODS
The exhibitor is obliged to insure with the primary company of his choice with an all risks policy.
The policies will have to specifically provide for the renunciation of any claim for redress againstcof the Association DiDe.
If the exhibitor does not take out the policy, the organizing company is not liable to: no title for damage resulting from non-compliance with the obligation.
Art.10 SUPERVISION
The Organization provides a night watch service in the district where the event takes place: this night watch service does not imply any recognition of the comparisons of the exhibitors for damages related to the objects, however introduced in the exhibition, of ownership of or from exhibitors.
Art.11 ADDITIONAL RULES
The Organizer reserves the right to establish norms and provisions deemed appropriate to better regulate the Event and related services. These standards and provisions will be equivalent to this.
This is why it is important to ensure that the Commission’s proposals are adopted as soon as possible.

b) the processing will be carried out in computerized and manual way;

GENOA DESIGN AWARD 2020

Deadline March 7, 2020

 

The absolute novelty of this edition will be the GDA.
The award established by DiDe, the Genoa Design District that organises Design Week, is designed to make a contribution of image and visibility to works and designers who have the ambition to tell the new concepts of spaces and form through the vision of their works.
The GDA will be awarded after a careful and unquestionable evaluation of a jury composed of internationally renowned designers and representatives of industry manufacturers and members of the ADI and of the DiDe Association.
The winner will be presented with the prize by creating a specific public event to which will be given maximum visibility.
The winning project will be published in an industry magazine and all media partners of the event.
The winner will be a guest of the next edition of the DWG 2021 as an exhibitor.
The jury reserves the opportunity to award special mentions.
The jury also has the right not to award any prizes if it does not consider the submitted projects to be appropriate.

 

1) Who is the GDA aimed at

Designers who will be able to participate by presenting only one work at the GDA.
Designers will still be able to exhibit more works during the 5 days of Design Week, but they will have to sign up for Design Week Genoa 2020 (see CALL DWG).

2) What is admitted to the GDA

All free-themed design works also already in production, in the form of a project to be presented on two Tables format A1 to be realized in forex.
Allowed content will be: technical design of the object / render or photo of the prototype / description of the project.
Participate in the Genoa Design Award all works submitted in the terms below.

3) GDA exhibitions

The project tables, selected by the jury, and among which will be the winning project, will be exhibited from 16 to 20 September 2020 during the DWG.
The exhibition of the finalist projects will take place in the way that the Organization will consider most functional to the event.

4) How to participate in the GDA

Participants must submit to dide.genova@gmail.com the registration form downloadable HERE, filled out in all its parts by July 31, 2020.

5) Registration and participation in the GDA is free

Registration and participation in the GDA is free.

6) Delivery of project tables and selection of finalists

The tables must be received by july 31, 2020 at the headquarters of the DiDe Association located in Genoa Via Chiabrera 33R (Postal Code 16123 GE) Transportation and insurance costs are borne by the participants.

7) Returning project tables

The project tables will have to be withdrawn personally by the participant or by his delegated representative, agreeing on the modalities and timing with the Organizational Secretariat.
Participants who will send the tables by express courier, will have to refer to it at their own expense to book their withdrawal.
The tables that will not be withdrawn within the agreed timeframe, will be donated as a bequest to DiDe APS.

8) Properties of jobs sent to the GDA

Projects submitted to the GDA will remain the property of the authors.
Any request for the exploitation of the projects will be expressly requested in accordance with the copyright.

9) Release of responsibilities

The organizers, while taking care of the works/tables received, do not take any responsibility for any damage to transport, tampering, fire, theft or other any damage during the period of the event, from delivery to collection of objects (storage, exposure, possible
post-manifestation stock).
The designers and participating companies are entirely required (and
recommended) to take out specific insurance against all the damage and theft that the works could suffer.

10) Images of objects and exhibitions

The event will be widely publicised locally and nationally and, for this purpose, each designer - guarantor of the originality of the work he presents - gives the organization, without consideration, the rights of reproduction, exhibition, publication, in any way, not
excluded, of its works.
DiDe APS, in full respect of the author’s moral right, will exercise these rights for all institutional communication activities related to the event.

11) Acceptance of conditions

The designers and companies, participating in the Design Week Genoa 2020 - Widespread exhibition of design objects, explicitly accept all the rules contained in the application form attached participation (downloadable on web site www.didegenova.it) none excluded.

12) Privacy

The information stored in our archive will be used for participation in the exhibition and for the sending of information material.
Each candidate expressly authorizes DiDe APS, as well as its direct delegates, to process personal data transmitted under the new EU Regulation Privacy Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR), including for inclusion in databases managed by the EU persons mentioned above.
There is the possibility of requesting the adjustment or deletion, as provided by the protection of personal data.
Each treatment is aimed at the above activities and is carried out with manual, computer and telematics tools, with organizational and processing logics to ensure the security, integrity and confidentiality of the data itself in accordance with the measures under the existing provisions.

13) Regulation

Art.1 DESIGNATION
Genoa Design Award
Art.2 PURPOSE
The Genoa Design Award aims to give a contribution of image and visibility to designers who have the ambition to tell the new concepts of space and form, through the exhibition of their works.
Art.3 ORGANISATION
The Genoa Design Award, within the Design Week Genoa 2020, is managed by DiDe Social Promotion Association - Design District, which reserves the largest decision-making faculty for the organization of the Event and the prize itself. Any such decision, dictated by unforeseeable needs or situations, shall not affect
any presumed or acquired right of the participants.
Art.4 ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION
All designers, manufacturers and creatives can participate in the Genoa Design Award.
Art. 5 ASSIGNMENT GDA
The GDA will be awarded after a careful and unquestionable evaluation of a jury composed of internationally renowned designers and representatives of companies producing in the sector and members of the Association DiDE and members of the ADI.
Art.6 TERMS OF ADMISSION
The signature of the application to participate shall constitute an irrevocable proposal for the applicant and shall entail acceptance of this Regulation.
The application must be signed and completed in its entirety by the designer and must reach the Association DiDe_Distretto del Design - Via Chiabrera, 33R - 16123 Genoa, by July 31, 2020.
The order in which the application for participation is received shall not be the determining factor for the award.
The admission to the exhibition or not of the project tables is reserved to the organizers and is unquestionable.
Art.7 EXHIBITION
The exhibition of the selected projects considered finalists of the Genoa Design Award will take place in a place decided by the organization and with the modalities that will be deemed appropriate.
The spaces will be manned by the Association and will follow the opening hours of Design Week Genoa.
Art.8 INSURANCE
It is necessary to take out special risk insurance for the eventual transport (both delivery and withdrawal) of the boards and for any damage or loss or theft during the storage of the material to be exhibited and during the exhibition period.
Art.9 ADDITIONAL RULES
The Organizer reserves the right to establish norms and norms deemed appropriate to better regulate the Event and its related services.
These rules and provisions shall be of equivalent value to this Regulation and shall therefore be equally binding.
